Filling in the Greatest Gap in My Education
Around 33 I realised that I had lost a tremendous amount of time because of a flaw in the education – namely, because of the unfamiliarity with the formal logic.
- This explains my 10-years long affair with Marxism (not a bad framework for looking at society, but an evolution of the flawed Hegelian tradition being undone by this very heredity).
- This explains my troubles with the programming when I tried to get the higher education for the first time.
- This explains my not having left Russia till 2023: if I were thinking more logically, I would have left back in 2014.
Logic is not a panacea, of course. But it is one of the most effective inventions of human mind, the instrumental set of navigating not one’s thinking, but one’s own perception of reality.
Good thing is that I got to this matter quite early in my life, and not around 60 or 70. Sometimes, being socially isolated helps to get things relatively in time.
